These meat and potato cakes are great hot appetizers, which you can make ahead of time.

1. Boil potatoes until cooked through and mash.
2. Over medium-high heat, saute the meat, garlic, scallions, and red onion until meat is cooked through.
3. In a large bowl, combine meat, potatoes, scallions, chili powder, salt, and 1 of the eggs.
4. In a separate small bowl, add the other egg and whisk white and yolk together.
5. Take small handfulls of meat mixture and form into small patties.
6. Dip each patty into egg and fry for 10 to 15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown in color.

200 g minced beef
6 scallions, thinly sliced
10 mL chili powder
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic
2 eggs
5 mL Salt
