This traditional dessert is sweet, flakey and sticky, topped with an attractive almond slice.

1. Combine flour, 100 g of sugar, yogurt, coconut, baking powder, and vegetable oil in a bowl.
2. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes.
3. In a saucepan, mix water, 350 g sugar, and rose water, and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Let it boil for 4 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
6. Preheat oven to 175 degrees C.
7. Spread flour batter onto the bottom of a 23 x 32.5 cm baking pan (9x13 inches).
8. Score into 12 even sized slices and place an almond half on each.
9. Bake for 20 minutes.
10. Broil for 3 minutes.
11. Pour prepared syrup over squares.
